On Sunday, February 2, the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos will square off in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Yes, the Super Bowl. There are those of us who remember a time when the game didn’t live up to the name, much less the hype.

But that’s ancient history these days when referring to the final game of the NFL season, which has become just as entertaining on the field as some would say off it.

In the early days before the merger on the field, the Green Bay Packers had their way with the AFL’s Kansas City Chiefs and then the Oakland Raiders in the first two Super Bowls. Of course, the New York Jets and Chiefs would win games III and IV, respectively.
