Some thoughts and some numbers regarding Week 9 of the 2013 season and entering Monday night's game… 

--Nine weeks into the season and already seven more wins than a year ago. Those are the 9-0 Kansas City Chiefs, who own the league's best record just one season after being tied for the worst mark (2-14) in the NFL. But that seven-game improvement in the win column is the focus here. In case you were wondering, the NFL team record for most wins from one season to the next is 10. The 1998 Indianapolis Colts and rookie quarterback Peyton Manning were 3-13 and one year later AFC East champions with a 13-3 record. About a decade later, the 2008 Miami Dolphins won the AFC East with an 11-5 mark just one season after finishing 1-15 in 2007…
