Who says history never repeats?
As we prepare to watch Florida, Connecticut, Wisconsin, and the Kentucky Wildcats in the 2014 NCAA Final Four this upcoming weekend, we’ve seen this somewhat scenario before.
In 1996, the NFL’s version of the final four and the chase for Super Bowl XXXI were Jacksonville, New England, Green Bay and the Carolina Panthers.
So it got us to thinking. In the 48 years of the Super Bowl Era, what year made up the best final four?
The criteria here are not only the quality of the teams but the quality of the conference or league championship games themselves. In some instances, just one of the two contests is legendary enough to elevate the quarter into legendary status.
